A second trailer for ‘Black Adam has been released. Starring Dwayne Johnson as DC’s anti-hero, “Black Adam” marks the character’s live-action debut. Usually, a nemesis of Shazam, Teth-Adam, the character’s real name, was previously scheduled to face Zachary Levi’s superhero in the movie “Shazam!” from 2019, but it was decided to give him his own movie first. The film, a director by Jaume Collet-Serra, also stars Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui and Pierce Brosnan as Carter Hall or Hawkman, Albert “Al” Rothstein or Atom Smasher, Adrianna Tomaz or Isis, Ishmael Gregor/Sabbac, Maxine Hunkel or Cyclone, Amon and Kent Nelson or Doctor Fate, respectively.
The new trailer reveals new footage from the film. You can watch it above. The clip also highlights that for Black Adam, his powers are not a gift but a curse he must live with. He also makes it clear that he is not a hero when talking to Doctor Fate.
We also see some spectacular action scenes that should look great on the big screen. Viola Davis appears as Amanda Waller in one shot.
Dwayne Johnson recently caught an audience enjoying a test screening. He shared a video on his Instagram page in which he can be seen removing his mask to boos and cheers and even tears from the audience. Fans apparently enjoyed the film as well. Johnson asked them about the ending, which they said was the best part of the movie.
Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani wrote the screenplay.
“Black Adam” is released on October 24.
