The South Indian International Movie Awards, popularly known as the SIIMA Awards, are the highest number of awards given out for artistic and technical achievements in the South Indian film industry.

The award feature was first launched in June 2012 by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Brenda Prasad Adusimilli and since then it is held every year to award talented stars of South India for their contribution in the field of large-scale art.

It is one of the major entertainment award ceremonies and unlike other South Indian film awards, SIIMA holds its ceremony overseas. However, in 2021, it was conducted in Hyderabad due to COVID-19 restrictions.

This year, the SIIMA Awards have completed 10 years and they will be held in the capital of Karnataka, Bengaluru, on September 10-11. The grand awards ceremony will see the presence of several popular South Indian industry personalities as well as a massive crowd.

Meanwhile, Brian Prasad Adusumilli, the President of SIIMA has announced the SIMMA nominations for films released in 2021 in 4 South Indian languages ​​– Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam.

Among the nominated Telugu films, Allu Arjun’s blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01 received 12 nominations after Akhanda who received 10 nominations and Uppena and Rathi Ratnalu who both received 8 nominations etc.

Top Nominated Tamil Films

Among the popular Tamil films of 2021, superstar Dhanush star Karnan received 10 nominations. He was followed by director Nelson Dilipkumar and doctor Sivakarthikeyan with 9 nominations. Actor Master Vijay and Kangana star Ranaut Thalaivii earned 7 nominations each.

Top Named Malayalam Films

Young Mollywood actor Tovino Thomas star of superhero film Minnal Murali won the highest nominations (10) among Malayalam film, which was followed by Dulquer Salmaan’s crime thriller Kurup which received 8 nominations. Fahadh Faasil stars Malik and Joji were nominated for 6 categories each.

Top Named Kannada Movies

The Kannada films that have won the highest number of nominations are Roberrt (10), Raj B. Shetty with Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana (8) and Yuvarathnaa with 7 nominations.
